- Scissors for half-size posters

- PowerPoint or Google Slides if editing the poster wording
Choose the full-size, half-size, student reference, or ink-saver version that fits your space. Print the pages you need, cut the half-size posters if using them, and laminate or place them in protectors if desired.
Introduce the Voice Levels
Teach the five levels one at a time: Silent, Whisper, Partner talk, Class voice, and Outside voice.
Discuss when each level is appropriate and point to the matching poster when you give directions.
Display the Posters
Place the posters where students can see them easily, such as on a bulletin board, classroom wall, center area, or calm corner.
Use the half-size version when you need a smaller visual for centers, binders, or limited wall space.
Give Students a Reference
Use the one-page student reference sheet as a quick reminder for folders, desks, or homework materials.
If your classroom uses different wording, type your own words into the editable PowerPoint file, which can also open in Google Slides.
Adaptations
- Introduce only a few voice levels at first, then add the others as students learn the routine.
- Keep a half-size poster near a center or small-group table for a close visual reminder.
- Use the student reference sheet for students who benefit from having the expectations directly in front of them.
- Edit the wording to match the voice-level language already used in your classroom or home-learning setting.
