Why mazes are good practice

Mazes build pencil control, visual planning and patience. Young children trace the wide paths with a finger first, then with a crayon. Older students enjoy racing a partner on the expert mazes.

  • Easy: 5 × 6 wide paths for little hands.
  • Medium and hard: more turns and dead ends.
  • Expert: a fine 21 × 26 maze for upper grades and early finishers.
